There are several crosses throughout the Wadi Qelt desert leading to St. George Monastery. If you look closely on the far left of the frame you’ll see another on the horizon line. St. George Monastery is built into the side of the mountain which is reached by a pedestrian bridge. Many believe this is the “valley of the shadow of death” from Psalm 23. The monastery is currently occupied by five Greek Orthodox monks that live there. You should visit, it’s amazing!
